Captian Marty WitthoftI’ve been fishing these waters for over fifteen years. I find everyday on the water a great day, always enjoyable, challenging and educational. It’s a great adventure just leaving the dock and return again, knowing every minute you’re on the open water is a minute truly lived.

I have been in other professions before becoming a Captain; but I’m officially retired so being a Charter Boat Captain is NOT MY JOB… It’s my passion.

In life some lessons cannot be learned in books or classrooms, they must be experienced! There is no limit to a Captain’s depth of knowledge possibilities and I am always eager for more!

I love the challenge of finding out how to catch fish, not just fishing. The reward comes when someone who has never caught a fish, with the power of a shark, begins the very personal adventure of “reeling it in”!

I fish where the great Atlantic Ocean greets the Altamaha River delta, around Sapelo Island, in this sheltered basin and estuary, lie “my fishing grounds”.

I freely roam in, out and around these barrier islands where there are no bridges… no reminders of mans progress…. or his ability to spoil nature’s already perfect view.

This is my fishing ground; it is a remote area, natural and unspoiled with very little sports fishing pressure.

Why wouldn’t I love to be out in it everyday?

I welcome you to join me on the water.  I SHARK… DO YOU?
